Tiyapo Ngwisanyi

Mr. Tiyapo Hudson Ngwisanyi has served as Director of the Department of Geological Survey from January 2010 to December 2015. In December 2015 he was appointed Chief Executive officer of the Botswana Geoscience Institute, a parastatal organization established to take over the functions of the Department of Geological Survey. Mr Ngwisanyi graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada, with a B.Sc. degree in Applied Geophysics and also holds an M.Sc. degree in Exploration Geophysics from ITC in the Netherlands. He has been with the Department of Geological Survey since 1988 where he started as Assistant Geophysicist and progressed to become head of Geophysics Division and eventually Director in 2010. While in the Geophysics Division Mr Ngwisanyi had the role of overseeing all geophysical operations in the country, notably the acquisition of airborne magnetic data.
